Zema Estate 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon May 07

A typical Coonawarra Cabernet nose; showing ripe blackcurrant, dusty notes, a hint of cigar box and coffee oak. Driven by pure fruit, the wine shows terrific balance with fresh acid, and is well backed by fine, powdery tannins. It's a solid, ample-weight, firm and tight wine with a well-developed complexity and 100% Zema Cabernet, which is what they do oh so well. Blackcurrant, sour cherry, coffee, and hints of herbaceous flavours around the edges, it fills the mouth and lingers well. Rated as Highly Recommended with **** for value, it can be found on the street for around $20. Drink from 2010 and as history shows, once it plateaus, it stays there for ages. Sealed with a cork.
