Zema Estate 2002 Shiraz PlonkOz04
The wine was bottled in July and has just been released.
Coffee essence over spice and subtle chocolate is a unusual and not what I was
expecting. Chewy tannins and distinct fruit combine to provide a firm but supple
consistency, and well developed complexity in this ample-weight wine. Spice,
liquorice, chocolate and coffee flavours finish with good persistence and create
an interesting wine. Who says Coonawarra can't make Shiraz? A damn goof wine for
the price, its rated as Recommended with **** for
value.
