Yering Farm 2001 Cabernet Merlot Oct 03 sells for $25 at cellar door. Raspberry, strawberry chocolate and slightly smoky oak showed on the nose, but the smoky character could have been from the fire! The wine is almost delicate with savoury cherry and slightly sweet milk chocolate which finishes a little bitter. Its medium in weight has a supple consistency and a simple level of complexity but it does linger well with reasonable palate length. Rated as Agreeable with ** for value.
