Yarra Edge 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Oct 04

A single vineyard wine made by Yearing Station and available only at cellar door. Varietal cabernet bouquet with sweet blackcurrant, spice and smoky cedar nuances. Fine-grained smooth tannins, balanced acid and distinct fruit combine to form a well constructed and balanced wine of medium weight with a supple consistency and solid, harmonious structure. Plum, blackberry, cigar box cedar flavours are complemented with a smoky, drying minty finish. A good lighter style of wine that is approhacable now and rated as Recommended with *** for value but the rating should improve over the next few years as the wine matures.
