Wise 2002 “Eagle Bay” Margaret River Shiraz PlonkOz04

I wondered if the nose was a bit pongy on this one or was it just the slight char, blackberry, spice, coffee and chocolate. Medium-weight, it has a firm consistency, solid structure and in agreeable complexity. The char is noticeable on the palate together with spice and liquorish; it comes across as “just another wine” of no great distinction. Rated as Acceptable with ** for value.
