Wise 2001 Margaret River Lot 80 Cabernet Sauvignon PlonkOz04

The wine retails for approximately $28 and is sealed in Stelvin. Once again, slightly pongy charry oak on the nose. Abundant tannins and distinct fruit combine to form a solid, well built wine of ample-weight. Charry oak dominates the palate and needs time to be absorbed but the cherry and chocolate fruit below should do the job and the wine finishes with respectable length. A solid result but from my perspective, it is a pity about the oak. Best drunk in 2008+, it is rated as Recommended with *** for value.
