The wine retails for approximately $35 and has been produced from 32 year old vines. Guess what? More charry oak but there is good fruit below it and with time it should sop it up. Distinct, strong quality fruit and smooth, powdery tannins produce an ample-weight, firm, solid wine with well-developed complexity that is very credible and will only get better with time. Blackberry, blackcurrant, dark chocolate, plum and mint flavours are attractive. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value, the wine should peak in 2008+.
