Wirra Wirra 2001 The Angelus PlonkOz04

A blend of 60% McLaren Vale and 40% Coonawarra fruit produces a classical, restrained and classy Cabernet bouquet. Clean and well balanced, dusty, silky tannins provide the stuffing to hold the wine together till it peaks but also produce a supple consistency. Ample in weight, the structure shows refinement and some elegance. Blackcurrant, dark chocolate and minty flavours finish dry; this is a good quality wine with some class and whilst its drinking well now, it will continue to improve till 2008 and beyond. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value.
