Warrabilla 2005 Reserve Cabernet July 06

A very dark black nose, showing blackberry, stewed fruits, spices and noticeable alcohol. A big wine in every respect; loads of powdery tannins, noticeably fresh acid and deep, strong fruit combine to form a firm, solid wine. Blackberry, tar, blackcurrant, spices/white pepper; the flavours are completely savoury, and whilst it is warm on the palate it finishes crisp, clean and with good persistence. It needs time to come together and going complexity and hopefully, gain some length on the back palate. Rated as Agreeable with *** for value, the rating should improve as the wine matures over the next four years.
