A little VA/lifted alcohol; the nose is black and brooding with caramel oak.
Fine, smooth tannins, unobtrusive acid and deep, strong fruit combine to form a
full-bodied, fruit-driven wine with a firm consistency, solid structure and
agreeable but simple complexity. A huge hit of blackberry flavour and then the
tannins kick in; liquorice and caramel are also found and whilst the wine has
excellent intensity there is not much length on the back palate. Still, a very
drinkable great quaffer an excellent price; rated as Agreeable with ***** for
value.
