Summerfield 2006 Tradition VicFeb08 will sell for $23 when it is released on March 29 and is sealed under screwcap. The wine is Shiraz Cabernet blend. The bouquet shows fresh, vibrant fruit, crushed arrowroot biscuits, spice, and cedary oak. Mouth-filling fruit is solidly backed by fine tannins, and together with the unobtrusive acid they form a well-balanced, medium-weight, ultra-tight, solid wine with a diverse flavour profile. The attractive palate profile shows savoury plum, sour cherry, dried herbs, blueberry, vanilla and coffee oak, which lingers nicely and has good persistence. Rated as Recommended with **** for value, the rating may improve as the wine matures.
