Turkey Flat 2005 Shiraz Dec 07

Lightly perfumed musky fruit, liquorice, vanilla and hints of nutmeg are found on the nose. The palate profile is sweet with savoury undertones; plum, red fruits, chocolate, meat and blackberry flavours. This ample-weight wine is very tight and not showing well at present. It’s probably in a gigantic hole, but it does have an excellent structure, and the pure fruit is solidly and harmoniously backed by fine, powdery tannins. Rated as Recommended with *** for value, the rating will improve as it needs at least five years in the bottle to show its best. Sealed with cork, it costs $40 from the winery.
