Turkey Flat 2005 Mourvedre Dec 07

A polished and finely buffed bouquet showing nutmeg and roast meat, it’s also petulant and doesn’t want to reveal itself. Ultra-fine powdery tannins back the bright and fresh fruit. Ample-weight with a supple consistency, sophisticated complexity, its bloody attractive and is harmonious even in its infancy. Sour cherry, blackberry, spice and plum flavours finish with excellent length and persistence. A clean, modern Australian wine, this was my favourite of the line up. Rated as Highly Recommended with **** for value, whilst it’s approachable now it will be best from 2010-2015. Sealed under cork, its $29 from the winery.
