The bouquet showed coffee essence, dark chocolate, plummy fruit together with some unusual, "poo" like characters lurking below. The fruit, tannins, and acid seem well balanced, but it would have been better with less oak character, and whilst it may be appealing to the masses, seems manufactured. The palate has loads of flavour with plum, chocolate, liquorice, heavy toasted oak, and sour cherry on the finish, completes the package. Rated as Agreeable with *** for value, undoubtedly others will find it more appealing; sealed under screwcap.
