The bouquet was broody and shows dusty notes, cigar box characters, and there
was some blackcurrant lurking below that wafted in and out. A real, varietal
Cabernet, it is off-sweet with blackcurrant, dark chocolate and loads of oak and
finishes very dry on abundant, slightly course, powdery tannins. Ample-weight
with a firm consistency and solid structure, it's a simple wine but will be
better in a couple of years when the tannins have resolved. Rated as Agreeable
with *** for value, it's sealed under screwcap.
