Thorn Clarke 2003 Sandpiper
Cabernet Sauvignon Sept 05
The bouquet is unmistakably
Cabernet; it’s dusty, showing green bean, milk chocolate cassis and instant
coffee. Tart on the uptake with coffee oak, over sweet and off-sweet fruit
finishing with herbaceous notes; overall it is certainly not a sweet wine.
Tannins are very fine and completely unobtrusive; it is ready to drink now
and unfortunately the flavour, whilst reasonably generous, finishes short on
the palate. Rated as Acceptable with *** for value.
