Thorn Clarke 2002 Sandpiper
Barossa Shiraz Jan 04
Some noticeable VA which had not blown off despite a few
hours in the glass but the plum, subtle liquorice, violets, spice and hints of
sawdust are attractive. Savoury plum, chocolate and spice fill the mouth and
the sappy green tobacco flavour lingers well. The wine is fruit driven with
ample weight, the crisp acid is refreshing, minimal tannins are unobtrusive;
and as there is only a token oak influence it’s a drink now. Rated as Agreeable with **** for value this is a good value
quaffer.
