Dark purple in colour, the hue is intense and bright. French oak with vanillin characters, cedar and mushroom combine with what smells like an over-ripe plummy fruit component. Tannins are smooth, the acid well judged and the fruit is concentrated. Mouth feel is good and the fruit driven character delivers plum, spice and white peppr that appears to be a bit short on the finish. Ample-weight, the consistency is supple, the structure round and the whole package a very drinkable harmonious, crowd pleaser. Rated as Recommended with ** for value.
