Tahbilk 1999 Reserve Shiraz Oct 04
Glorious ripe fruit with underlying violets, liquorice,
blackcurrant and chocolate, the wine exhibited a bouquet of terrific complexity.
Deep, persistent fruit delivers a most enjoyable flavour profile with an
off-sweet attack of mulberry followed by a wave of sweet flavours on the mid
palate which is propped up by a solid layer of supporting chocolate. Muscular in
weight, the complexity is sophisticated and diverse, the structure is solid and
backed by dusty, smooth, drying tannins. Rated as
Highly Recommended with *** for value, the rating should
improve as it becomes approachable in 2007 and well beyond.
