Sutherlands Creek 2005 Primitivo Sept 07

The bouquet is dominated by coffee essence, varnished oak and loads of spicy/white pepper. A medium-weight, firm, solid and tight wine; it is well backed by fine, smooth, dusty tannins. Complexity is diverse, but the flavour profile is a dichotomy, possibly caused by a combination of very-ripe and under-ripe fruit. Coffee essence, sour cherry, dark chocolate and white pepper flavours are dominated by herbaceous characters. Rated as Agreeable, it is sealed with a Diam.
