Summerfield 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon July 07

The bouquet shows a sweet hit of blackcurrant followed by varietal Cabernet characters. Displaying a positive mouth feel and harmonious balance, the wine is well-backed by dusty tannins and fresh acid. The pure fruit delivers a lovely flavour profile with blackcurrant, hints of cigar box and oak flavours which finish with excellent length and persistence for a wine at this price point. Ample-weight the consistency is firm but supple; it's a damn good wine with everything you could want in a Cabernet at this price. Whilst it is drinkable now, it will improve. Rated as Recommended with **** for value, it sealed under screwcap and should peak around 2012. Sealed under screwcap.
