Summerfield 2003 Reserve
Cabernet Shiraz PlonkOz04
As there was not enough high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon to
make the Reserve in 2003, Mark decided to make a 50-50 blend. The gently
perfumed bouquet delivers ripe blackcurrant, mulberry, plum and dark chocolate
flavours. Muscular-weight, the consistency is supple, the structure solid and
the wine has a well-developed, sophisticated complexity. It's interesting and
grew on me the longer I looked at it. The wine also shows better balance than
the Reserve Shiraz. Rated as Highly Recommended with
***for value, it should peak in 2007+.
