Steve Hoff 2002 Roscoe Shiraz
Aug 04
The wine was matured in 40% new American oak but it has been
well judged, as there is little sigh of it on the bouquet which is subtle,
seductive and shows blackberry and mushroom compost. At 15.3% alcohol, there is
also no sign of any excess heat. The wine was bottled six weeks ago and has a
huge intensity of blackberry, plum, prune, chocolate and mint
flavour. It is full-bodied and has wonderful power without excess
extraction. Consistency is subtle, the structure is solid and the complexity harmonious
which adds up to a good wine with excellent persistence and finish. Rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value (or **** if you
get it on special), it should peak about 2006+.
