Steinborner 2005 Barossa Deutsche Shiraz March 08 is sealed under cork and sells direct from the winery for $25. Unobtrusive, fine tannins combine with fresh acid and deep, persistent fruit to form a muscular, solid and tight wine. Blackberry, plum, pepper and spice flavours finish long. Whilst the wine is approachable now, it should improve and should enter its peak drinking window between 2010 and 2015. Rated as Recommended with *** for value, the rating should improve as the wine matures. This was not only the best wine of the three; it was the best value and should be very pleasant drinking at its peak.
