Small Fry 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Sept 06

The bouquet that is fruit driven, slightly dusty and shows attractive characters of blackcurrant, plum and cigar leaf. Unobtrusive, silky tannins and deep fruit produce a muscular-weight wine with a supple consistency, almost seamless structure and agreeable complexity. Very ripe, intense fruit expresses blackcurrant, liquorice, mint, chocolate and as it opened up, some varietal herbaceous characters are merged; there was also abundant pepper. Very gluggable with loads of flavour! After 24 hours, blackcurrant/berry, pepper and mint dominated the palate; the tannins became more obvious and the acid freshened. It's well-balanced and should age well, but very drinkable now. Rated as Recommended with *** for value.
