Scorpiiion 2006 GSM March 08 sells for $17 (by six-pack) and is sealed under screwcap. The bouquet was broody but showed meat, dark chocolate and blackberry. Its fruit driven and rich; sweet on the uptake with blackberry leading to a mid-palate that is savoury with chocolate, roast meats and aniseed; whilst the clean and crisp acid provides an almost orange rind like character to the finish. An ample-weight, soft wine that is sufficiently backed by silky tannins, it's very-easy drinking but shows some warmth on the palate. Very quaffable, it is rated as Recommended with **** for value.
