Schiller Vineyard 2000 Stone Train Feb 08

Hailing from the Barossa, the wine is a blend of Cabernet and Shiraz, sealed under cork and sells for $35. The bouquet shows red and black fruits with milk chocolate, and cedar lurking below. Powdery tannins combine with fresh acid and distinct fruit to form a medium-weight wine with a supple consistency, solid structure and well-developed complexity. Plum, blackcurrant, dominant blackberry, and tar, mocha, and mint flavours finish with reasonable length and persistence. The flavour profile is very ripe but has a hint of sappiness. A good result for the vintage, it is rated as Recommended with *** for value and pretty good value when you consider the age of the wine. Drink from 2010 to 2015.
