Sylvan Springs 2006 Hard Yards SASept07 was a barrel sample that will be sealed in screwcap and sell for $18 from the winery. The bouquet shows very youthful plum and spice; the aromatics were lovely. Driven by pure, round, juicy-fruit and backed by dusty tannins and fresh acid, this ample-weight wine with a supple consistency and solid structure is very approachable now. If the finished wine is as good it will be a great buy. Plum, chocolate and a touch of char on the tail completes the package. Rated as Recommended with **** for value.
