Rymill 2001 MC²  PlonkOz04

A varietal Cabernet bouquet that is lightly perfumed and showing ripe red berry fruit, subtle tobacco mint and liquorish. The palate was not what I expected and was more subtle showing off-sweet liquorish, chocolate, plum, coffee, blackcurrant and mint that finishes with excellent persistence. Very good for a lighter style of wine, there is some elegance to the solid structure and it already shows harmonious characteristics which should become seamless as it reaches its peak in 2008+. With its sophisticated complexity it is drinking well now but should improve, rated as Highly Recommended with *** for value.
