Punters Corner 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Jan 09
Sealed under screwcap, it retails for around $30 a bottle. The nose shows
blackcurrant and milk chocolate/mocha oak, dusty notes, sweet mint, and musk
stick. As it opened up, perfumed scents started to emerge. The wine has a
pleasant mouth feel but the tannins overshadow the fruit at present. Very
savoury on the uptake, the chalky tannins support good length it the fruit is
not overly generous. Medium-weight with a supple consistency, it is a very solid
wine but needs time. Rated as Recommended with *** for value.
