Punters Corner 2001 Triple Crown Aug 04

A blend of 67% Shiraz, 24% Shiraz and 9% Merlot. Just ample in weight, the wine has a firm but almost supple consistency assisted by the reasonably soft tannins (that will soften further), a solid structure and diverse flavour complexity. The unusual flavour of blackberry, plum, meat, blood and mint finishes dry and with refreshing acid. A very different sort of wine, it is hard to pigeon hole but it is s=oft and easy drinking already. Rated as Recommended with *** for value, it should peak about 2006+.
