Punters Corner 2001 Cabernet
Sauvignon PlonkOz04
The nose was slightly volatile
with lifted alcohol and showing very ripe fruit. Silky tannins provide a
deceptively good backbone and combined with distinct fruit to form an
ample-weight wine with a supple consistency that is easy to drink now but should
improve in the short term. A truly varietal but ripe Coonawarra Cabernet that
finishes with good persistence and drying tannins; this is an underrated wine
label. Rated as Recommended with ****
for value.
