Parker 2002 Terra Rossa
PlonkOz04
I liked the 2001 vintage of this wine which was a highly
enjoyable fruit driven wine. This wine showed dusty, leafy cigar box, sweet
berry fruit with signs of a cool vintage and a little herbaceous
character. An interesting, typical Coonawarra Cabernet flavour profile that was
layered and made tangy by the fresh acid. Ample-weight, tannins were in the
powdery spectrum which provided a firm consistency and solid structure.
Complexity is agreeable and although this wine is rated as Recommended with ***
for value, it does not stand out in a crowd; in fact many of the wines in the
same price bracket were better. It should peak about 2008.
