Orlando 2002 Gramp’s Grenache Feb 05

Just enough VA or lifted alcohol is to tickle the hairs in my nose; the aroma is both sweet and savoury in nature showing ripe red berry fruit, milk chocolate, and a hint of white pepper. There also seems to be a bit of sappiness to the nose as well. The palate is silky smooth with totally unobtrusive minimal tannins so is ready to drink now. Not as sweet as many Grenache, the milk chocolate and pepper dominates the flavour profile, but as expected, there is some sappiness to the wine. Muscular in weight and fruit driven it finishes dry and holds a certain appeal. Rated as Acceptable with *** for value, you can do far worse than drink this wine.
