A soft, ripe fruit driven nose showing spice and a little white pepper. The smooth tannins have a slight touch of hardness about them which should soften in time and combined well with the unobtrusive acid and rich, ripe and concentrated fruit to form an approachable wine with the structure to last. The mulberry, blackcurrant, and spicy flavours are enhanced by the firm consistency, supple mouth feel and harmonious complexity. Rated as Recommended with **** for value, it's great buying and should peak in 2006 and beyond.
