Mount Burrumboot
2002 Winemakers Reserve Shiraz PlonkOz04
The bouquet was sedate showing clean
ripe fruit. Abundant powdery, drying tannins combine with fruit that seems like
it has a combination of ripe and unripe characters. Medium-weight, the
consistency is firm and the structure is solid. Red berry fruit and milk
chocolate flow across the palate with good length but the big question is will
the fruit hold. Better than the standard wine, but it needs time for the tannins
to integrate and will probably be best drunk in 2008 and beyond. Rated as
Recommended with ** for value.
