Marquee 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Aug 2003

Marquee is a new company which is exporting a limited range of Australian produced wines (some from recognised names) to selected US markets under their own Marquee label.

Coffee, dusty notes, raspberry and other berry fruit with very subtle underlying spice are found on the bouquet. On the palate the wine is underpinned by green (thankfully not unripe) flavour right across the palate together with subtle white pepper and raspberry tailoring off to a good length coffee finish. The soft structure with minimal tannins and mid weight will make this wine idea for immediate consumption and it has the added bonus of being food friendly with no sharp edges. A well made fault free wine; if it’s pitched at the bistro market it has been well aimed. Rated as Agreeable.
