Munari 2003
Shiraz Mourvedre PlonkOz04
The wine contains 13% Mourvedre and is
primarily Bendigo fruit and it retells the approximately $25 a bottle. The
bouquet was tight and unyielding. Smooth, drying tannins and unobtrusive
balanced acid combine with pure fruit to form an ample-weight wine with supple
consistency and a solid, harmonious structure. It's fleshy and ripe, in short a
lovely fruit driven wine showing plum, black fruits, spice and a meaty back
palate. The Mourvedre makes this an interesting wine which should improve with
time and is good value. Rated as Recommended with ***
for value, it should peak in 2005 and beyond.
