Lunar Wines Cabernet Sauvignon July 07

Hints of lifted alcohol, the bouquet is dominated by oak (cedar and vanilla,) with dark chocolate, black fruits and tar. Well backed by fine, powdery tannins which are well matched  to the deep fruit and refreshing acid. A clean, modern wine, although it is a black flavour profile wine, the flavours don't seem over-ripe, but some alcohol heat is noticeable. Dark cherry, tar, black coffee; it sits well in the mouth and finishes long and dry whilst the acid cleans the palate. It's full-bodied, has a supple consistency, and very agreeable complexity, and whilst it's not exactly a varietal cabernet, never the less, its a nice red. Rated as Recommended with **** for value; it drinks well now but should be better with another three years in the bottle.  Sealed with cork, it's available from lunarwines@hotmail.com fir $22.50 a bottle including freight on 6 or more bottles.
