Leasingham 2001 Classic Clare Cabernet Sauvignon PlonkOz04

The bouquet has attractive, ripe fruit with varietal Cabernet characters which flow across the palate as blackberry, mint, menthol, chocolate and vanilla which was similar to the CC Shiraz. There are enough smooth tannins to hold the wine together and they combine with the obvious fruit to form an ample-weight wine with a supple consistency and agreeable level of complexity. A clean well made wine that is ready to drink now, it is rated as Highly Recommended (just) with ** for value.
