Leaconfield 2002 Cabernet
Sauvignon PlonkOz04
Bottled in both Stelvin and
cork, the bouquet is dusty tobacco over good-quality ripe fruit. A typical
Coonawarra Cabernet, its predominantly savoury but it does have a layered,
subtle under-pinning sweetness which adds excellent complexity. There is also
some minor herbal influences, tobacco, savoury red current and milk chocolate
flavours. Medium-weight the consistency is firm and the complexity diverse. A
lighter style worthy of consideration, it certainly holds interest and is rated
as Recommended
with *** for value, it should peak around
2008+.
