Kells Creek 2002 Pinot Oct 03

An unusual bouquet of perfumed wood pencil shavings, truffle, sweet red berry spectrum fruit and smoky notes. Lots of acid which is soft and unobtrusive with silky tannins and lean fruit; the wine is well balanced and has an excellent mouth feel. Light savour cherry fruit combine with a little sappiness and ripe sweet underlying fruit together with a wave of smoked flavour that covers the palate from start to finish. It forms an easy drinking Pinot that’s food friendly that would also be perfect for a hot summer evening sitting on the deck watching the world go by.

Rated as Agreeable with *** for value, this wine is eminently drinkable and retails for $20 by the dozen at cellar door.
