The bouquet exudes varnish oak characters over earthy notes and red fruits. A medium-weight wine with a supple consistency and a solid structure, it's in the dry red, easy-drinking style. It's sweet on the uptake with very dark chocolate, hints of aniseed, and loads of blackberry on the finish, which has acceptable length and persistence. Rated as Agreeable with *** for value, it's ready to drink now and is sealed under screwcap.
