The bouquet was tight, closed and showing little except for perfumed soap notes. Pure, deep strong fruit drives the wine and it is enhanced by a lovely mouth feel. Its perfectly ripe with chocolate on the uptake, with intense blackberry and pepper on the mid palate, flowing through to more chocolate and blackberry on a persistent finish. Ample-weight, as it opened it seemed to gain weight; the consistency is supple, the structure almost seamless and its already showing signs of harmony. A lovely wine, it’s focused and tight. Rated as Recommended with **** for value.
