Jasper Hill 1999 Georgia Jan 05
The
nose is ripe with a touch of VA, prominent vanilla and mushroom together with
coffee/mocha and brooding black fruit. A rock solid, full-bodied wine with
abundant powdery tannins that still need years to integrate, the powerful fruit
is pure and deeply seated and should be up to the task in the long term. Coffee,
chocolate, mushroom, blackberry, aniseed, with a most unusual, almost burnt
taste and a touch of mint leaves the palate chewy and dry. Rated as
Excellent
(just,) I'll leave the rest for a few years.
