Jameson Run 2001 Rothwell PlonkOz04
This wine has been doing well on the show circuit and has an
RRP of $72.80 so it should be good stuff. The wine stained the tasting glass and
the bouquet showed coffee, perfumed blackcurrant, and whilst it was closed to
start with, it did open up with airtime to reveal attractive characteristics.
Pure, deep strong fruit delivers mouth filling chocolate, blackberry, and plum;
the abundant ultra-smooth tannins are long and finish dry. A very well built
wine that needs years for the fruit to surface, it is muscular in weight with a
rock-solid, tight structure and firm but supple consistency. Rated as
Excellent with *** for value, it should peak
about 2013+.
