Hazyblur 2004 Kangaroo Island Shiraz May 06

An interesting bouquet showing sweet chocolaty fruit and contrasting spices with noticeable, toasted coconut oak. The palate shows obvious cool climate origins with

spicy oak, coconut, pepper, mulberry and chocolate but initially it was s dominated by loads of eucalyptus but over time, this receded almost completely and the coffee character and pepper took over. It delivers a good flavour punch for it's mid-weight and is solidly backed by unobtrusive tannins that also produce a supple mouth feel. A very easy drinking wine, its ready to quaff now and will offer excellent enjoyment. Rated as Agreeable with *** for value at around $21.50 by mail order. My main concern with this label was the corks. The Shiraz was completely wet (all the way around) within a couple of mm of the top and the Cabernet was wet 3/4 of the way up.
