Hardy 2000 Tintara Shiraz
PlonkOz04
This label just goes from bad to
worse although admittedly 2000 was not a good vintage. Intense blackberry and
mint on the nose delivers ultra-ripe, blackberry, plums, dark chocolate,
liquorish and mint however there did not appear to be in a fruit for the cedary
oak. Ample-weight, the consistency is supple and this easy drinking wine has an
agreeable complexity which I doubt will get any better and it is rated as
Recommended with ** for value.
As an aside, I gave a glass of
this (totally blind) to Brian and asked him for his opinion. His comments were
not particularly flattering and when I told him what it was he said "that's not
McLaren Vale Shiraz!"
