Happs Three Hills 2002 Shiraz
April 05
When this bottle was first
opened, I actually thought it may have been slightly faulty; it was very
sedate but with time on the glass it certainly improved to show plum, look
chocolate and spice. A medium-weight wine backed by ultra-fine tannins and
unobtrusive acid; it has certainly been well crafted. Flavours of coffee,
plum, chocolate, spice and Cabernet like green bean character, finish with
respectable intensity and persistence. The wine or will go well with food
and it is a good result for an obviously difficult vintage. It may improve
in the short term and is rated as Recommended with ** for value.
