Happs Three Hills 2002 Charles Andreas
April 05 05 05
Initially the bottle opened
with youthful, sweetly perfumed fruit that was tight with cedar and pine;
there some VA which blew off fairly quickly in the glass. After a couple of
hours in the glass, the true character emerged and the bouquet exhibited
strong green bean characters. Ultra-fine tannins, fresh acid and medium
weight fruit have been well balanced and the wine superbly crafted, it's
just a pity the wine maker didn't have better fruit to work with.
Blackcurrant, but oak, abundant green bean characters and look chocolate
flavours complete the palate profile.
